THE SEARCH PARTY by Hannah Richell

“The suspense will drive you through the pages – unable to put it down until you have a resolution…”

With a dark, moody, edgy tone The Search Party tricks the mind as to which characters are masking a darker intent or motive. Five old friends from London city campus days decide to accept the invitation to the weekend glamping experience hosted by their ‘sea-changer’ friends on the isolated Cornwall coast.

The clash of old friends, now living vastly different lives with their equally complicated families, creates a pressure-cooked series of circumstances that reaches a crescendo as a fierce storm descends on the camp.

I have read all of Hannah Richell’s books and followed each publication from her debut Secrets Of The Tides in 2012 through to The Search Party now. It’s always an interesting journey to read and witness the development of an author through the eyes of a reader. With each new book I have seen her strengths emerge. The Search Party is a departure from her contemporary family drama genre to the the more gritty, determined suspense category.

The Search Party, I must boldly confess, is her most solidified, sharpest novel with an array of convincing characters that either dig beneath your skin or draw you into a sympathetic huddle!

“Without any ‘flat-zones’ in her narrative, Hannah Richell has created a must-read tense tale that has been a stand-out in amongst my holiday reads this year.”

*She assures me her name is pronounced Richell as in Mitchell – I asked her!
