ways I can help

a bookish life

“I read wide and vast. Non-fiction, fiction and across the ages. That which I don’t read, I understand the synopsis and where each book fits in the bookish landscape. Book reviews and book clubs are opportunities for the very best bookish communication…”

my motivation…

“Books…more than carefully crafted covers, chosen typeface and considered weights of paper… but instead, the colours of one’s mind, the sharpness of one’s experiences and the energy of life itself all bound within.” Sue Reid

Kia Ora, I’m Sue Reid

I’m the creator and content writer for this site. It’s a window to my business – I prefer face to face negotiations to work out how I can be of help to you.

I was born and raised in Australia and have called New Zealand home for thirty years – it has been a good life in the rural countryside.

In 1995 I began my bookselling career with David Hedley at Hedley’s Books, a generational, independent bookstore in Masterton. Time called me to be a Mum and I chose to ‘write on the pages’ of my children’s lives until 2009 when I began work as the book category manager at Masterton Paper Plus, owned by Russell Carthew then later Warwick Delmonte.

Throughout my bookselling career, I have always remained connected to writing processes and the book industry – in a variety of ways including, being involved with events or researching topics of interest.

When my nose is not in a book I can be found tending to the veggie patch in my garden, nurturing my commitment to growing our own food.
